Not only is this book a riveting story, it's also a lesson in economics, politics and sales! A must read for anyone interested in coffee, international politics, or if you've lived in the Bay Area. Dave Eggers is such a great story teller, you'd think he was there with Mokhtar through the struggles and triumphs that bring him (ultimately) to success. ...more

This is an excellent account of what happened to a man who wanted to be a coffee trader and who got stranded in Yemen when it was attacked in a war. It is interesting to read an account of what was actually happening and what life was like in this little-known country.
