One of Coben's first books written in the 1980's or early 90's about a basketball player who falls in love with a fashion designer. Lots of twists and turns in this one, but it whas withstood the test of time and is still valid today.

I am quite glad that I didn't pick up this Coben book first. There are definitely shades of his later work - focus on sports in general, and basketball in particular, outlandish (in this case, soap-opera-y) plot twists and a (mostly) good pacing.
But the dialogue (both internal and external) in this book was TERRIBLE. My kindle edition did not come with Coben's introduction in it, but from what I"ve read in the other reviews, it was completely warranted. I think if you are really interested in C ...more
