This was very different from any other William Boyd book I've read. I liked the way the story moved between the present day to wartime. This is one I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys books set during war time or spy stories. ...more

I liked the story, but the whole mystery in the present day about who was supposedly tracking the mother just kind of fizzled out and the novel just ended. I was expecting more.
