About ten years ago, I read one of the first few books in the Swedish "Inspector Van Veeteren" series -- I don't recall which, but whichever it was, it didn't do enough to make me long to read the rest of the series. Faced with a limited selection on a recent snowy weekend, I picked this sixth in the series up, hoping for better.
