2.5 years later, I have finished reading these notebooks, suitable for when you are in the mood to break your own boundaries, like sabotaging sleep, dreaming of your crush. I didn't enjoy the interlude chapters on crocodiles, but it doesn't matter. I did enjoy underlining references to places, films, music, and books. I picked this up for my Around the World Read for Taiwan. I wanted to like this, my favorite boyband is from Taiwan and while I knew that this book is not twee, I was hoping for a glimpse of Taiwanese culture & milieu as well. Knowing the background of the author helped me, I came in thinking that this might be like how The Bell Jar was for Sylvia Plath. The sections pertaining to crocodile people were hard to follow.
