I've been a fan of Kearsley for years, and it was a thrill to see this one finally become available in an e-edition. Better yet, this one's set in the home of my absolute favorite wine appellation, and post-read I'm left with a burning desire to retrace Emily's footsteps and probably drink too much in so doing. All in all I enjoyed this book, however, it did not quite measure up to other Susanna Kearsley books (e.g. Shadowy Horses or Firebird). Maybe it is because it is from a much earlier time in her career and she was still developing as an author, or maybe it is because the main character was rather difficult to relate to. In my opition the best parts were the location and the historical backstory.
