I loved The God of Small Things when I read it years ago, so I was excited when Roy published a new novel! Unfortunately, this is just another in the long string of disappointing reads I've experienced this April.

What can I say about this book? It's lovely, melancholy, hysterical (laugh out loud funny) and so moving. Roy is at her best here, interweaving transgender of Old Delhi with freedom fighters of Kashmir.

Too many unfamiliar names of people, things and concepts. The story was interesting, but I just didn't feel like pursuing it at this time. Maybe later.
