There was much to like and dislike about this book. Loved the narrator, the setting, the idea behind this story so much.

I felt like it meandered and could have been better edited. There were also times toward the end that (not a spoiler) you cannot believe that Louise would be that stupid, gullible, and naive.

However, it fit into the ending. And the ending was awesome.

what the hell with that ending!?!?!?

[UPDATE] Behind Her Eyes was promoted by publisher as a shock-twist ending thriller book especially with a tagline “Why is everyone talking about the ending of Behind Her Eyes?”. If you type “behind her eyes ” in Google, their first suggestion is “behind her eyes ending”. Moreover, It also was hyped to be the next Gone Girl or The Girl on The Train along with #WTFthatending.

The book follows story of Louise, a single mom. One night she kisses a man who she met

Starts off as a fairly middling "thriller" fueled by baffling motivations and contrived developments. Then, two thirds of the way through the story, switches genres and becomes a fantasy read in order to deliver its preposterous "twist".

Worst read of 2017 to date. I realize it's early, but this one's going to be tough to beat.

3.5 stars. Really gripping story, and it's true: no one is guessing that ending. Really hard to put down and I have a soft spot for language and expressions unique to the UK. Read if you're in the mood for a bit of a mind-bender. ...more
