3.5 stars, but I'm feeling generous. The story itself deserves 3 stars, but the prose gets four.
The story alternates between the stories of Eddie, a Jewish immigrant who has walked away from his father and his faith, and Coralie, an innocent girl being raised in the Museum of Extraordinary Things. The points of view alternate by chapter, giving the histories of both of these characters until their stories intersect more than halfway through the novel.

Love the setting of the book - Coney Island in 1911 was pretty fascinating. The love story is not too lovey dovey so I can still live with it :D Love the narrative as well, Alice Hoffman knows how to weave beautiful language with engaging plot. Recommended.
Set in Coney Island in 1911 with backdrop of true events, this is a story of two young people inexplicably drawn together. There were quite a lot a descriptive passages which made it drag for me but in the end it is a beautiful story and worth the slog.
