For the most part, I really liked this. But I felt that the backstory needed more fleshing out. How the society got to the point where it is wasn't really explained in depth. Hopefully Tintera will give more background in book two.

Fantastic debut novel! Now THIS is an example of First Person (past tense) that WORKS.
* oppressive government? check.
* walled cities? check.
* re-animated dead? check.
* spunky heroine with hidden abilities? NO!!!!!!!!!
Wren 173 is anything but spunky, and she KNOWS just how good she is at kicking ass. What she doesn't seem to realize is how good she is at inspiring others. She's been just doing her thing, living her life (what life she has, which isn't much), not really looking around. Until now ...more
