Such dysfunction! But soon you become engrossed with the Plumb family members. You root for them; you want them to be happy. And they each have a downfall, something they cling to, almost unwillingly, that holds them back. Will they discover how to let go?
Perfect summer read. Finished it in 3 days. Nothing super involved or heavy or sad, but it kept my interest and I kept wanting to just sit and read. I liked a lot of the characters and absolutely had to know what happens in the end.
Smart, current storytelling most definitely inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald, but that’s fine bc who doesn’t like F. Scott Fitzgerald?! All the characters are an interesting mix of hateable and loveable. I’ll definitely read more by her.
Enjoyable character study, but ultimately lacks enough punch to make it truly great
