What Members Thought
The topics dealt with in this book are important for adults to discuss. I am surprised this is categorized as a middle school read and recommend to others to hold off recommending it to their kids until high school. And then don't just hand it to them, but have a thoughtful discussion - about courage, choices, modern day slavery, poverty and drought. I love that one of the most powerful and determined characters in this book was a 13 year old girl - and I felt it was realistic how each of the ch
