I really liked this first book in the Miss Zukas series. I loved Helma (short for Wilhemina) Zukas, the librarian and main character of the series. She was curious about everything (a key ingredient to being a good librarian). On to the next in the series.

This was okay. I didn't really engage with the protagonist. All of the characters seemed somewhat flat and the mystery was a little too obvious. However, this is the first in a series and often writers strengthen characters over time in a series. It was a quick read. ...more

Miss Zukas is such the stereotypical librarian and I ended up liking her anyway. A nice, light read.
