What Members Thought
The decision to being our protagonist's story while he is still a fetus - and one with the reflective understanding of a young adult - is an odd choice that, early on, establishes an all too silly tone to what develops into a grim and ultimately touching narrative. The novel finishes strong but its oddball beginning makes it difficult for me to appreciate it as a whole.
