This book ends on a happier note, but in the meantime, it's very sad. As an adult, it was worrisome to feel the burdens of this young boy. Despite what the cover suggests, I wouldn't categorize this book as humor. It's a good read, but left me melancholy. My 10-year-old asked if there was a second book; he wanted to ensure Benjamin and his family where okay. *sigh*
