A very short book, Bennet's tale is about an older couple that returns home from the opera to find all their belongings burgled. The talk about materialism and possessions is as much of an issue today as it was twenty years ago, yet the story feels too much like a short story to cover much of this topic. Still a good story and a good conversation starter for a book club.

It started out with a neat premise and went downhill rapidly from there.
