A random pick from the library shelves, mainly because my parents were in Malaya at the time of the Emergency, and told of having to drive around with a loaded gun in their car...This story brings back the atmosphere of Malaya really well- the author remembers things about the time and place that I didn't, which made it more interesting for me.
