Really enjoyed this one! The map + mystery didn't fully connect together, but I loved the character development & connections. Penny somehow managed to confidently juggle such a large cast of characters. Seeing the next generation of officers was a treat.

Since I have read 12 books in the Inspector Gamache series, I compare them to each other which probably is not fair because the series in total is one of the best I have ever read. Still I did not get involved in the main story line which concerns an Inspector LeDuc. I found there to be a lot of repetition in the Who Done It part and the red herrings were just absurd for anyone who knows Inspector Gamache. But whenever the action switched over to Three Pines, I loved it and the last two chapters
