I finally had the opportunity to read this wonderful book. When this book came out in 2005 it became a national bestseller in Indonesia, and I can see why. The summary for the book says that it is closely autobiographical. The main character is a young boy who attends a school so poor, that it could collapse at any time. Yes, the students are poor, the teacher is unpaid, but their education is very inspiring.
