Very interesting subject matter and historic period, I would recommend this for historical fiction fans. I learned quite a bit about Octavian and his rise from Caesar's sickly, exiled heir to exalted emperor. I liked the the first person view, although it made it difficult to understand the overall historical context at times. ...more
