These days I don't really watch TV, and I've never had cable, so Patton Oswalt hasn't really been on my radar at all. Based on a few minutes poking around online, he seems like a pretty funny comic who supplements his residual checks from The King of Queens by doing a lot of cartoon voiceover work. Meh. I really wanted to like this, because I love his comedy and his hilariously wrong sensibilities. There were some amusing bits in this book, and some inventive bits, but ultimately, I felt like he was just trying too hard to be clever. I don't feel like I really learned more about him (if it was supposed to be an autobiography) nor was I particularly amused (if it was supposed to be humorous). I think I'll search out his Firefly-verse book featuring Wash instead. ...more
