So, for someone who was annoyed by the social norms in Mad Men, it was amazing that I had two novels with the same era come off 'hold' at the same time. The first one, Three Martini Lunch, was a slog for me, but this one, by contrast, was quite lovely. If you are a fan or interested in the glittering NY social life of the 60s, this is for you.

Reading notes:
Let's hope Alice Roosevelt "Longfellow" gets corrected in the next printing and that the intern who couldn't Google her name gets fired. Alice Roosevelt LongWORTH.

I thought I recalled the Cushings being upset over Betsy marrying Jimmy Roosevelt--son of the Traitor to His Class--maybe that was Ethel?

I realize these are New Yorkers, but did anyone say "gay" then for homosexual?

Also, I'm 4 discs in and already want to run over Truman with the limo. What an obnoxious little creep. I r ...more
