I was so happy to finally read this back at the time. It was everything I’d heard about it and more. The characters were lovable and amazingly developed, and it satisfied all the dreamy fantasy of what I’d imagined and so much more. Everyone should read this book and in fact, the series. It takes your heart and mind to places you can’t even imagine. Thankfully Tolkien was able to for us.

Love this book so much. Rereading it just before the movie comes out is a very great decision. The translation is good too, even the rhymes and riddles could be translated very well. And I love Bilbo Baggins with all his eccentricity. Can't wait to watch the movie =)

One of the books listed in "1001 Children's Books" ... and like many books listed in this book, I disagree with the age category, 8 is too young to sit through a long book like this! It would be better listed in the 12+ category.
