I haven't finished reading this yet, however I'm calling it: this is one of the most beautiful collection of stories I've read. Beautiful writing, ideas, concepts, cultures, humanity, empathy. It's half killed me a couple times already, because people. And still it's so rich and simple and genuine and likely, that--even when devastated--there's no emptiness; these writings are so filling. Thank you Ken Liu for these stories; this is my first reading of you, and I look forward to your other works ...more

This book is a collection of short stories. I read most of this book at the end of August, and I really liked the stories I read at the beginning. I got bogged down in a long story towards the end of the book, and I could never make myself pick it up. I finally picked it up this week and finished the last three stories.

The stories were for the most part creative and thought provoking, but I don't remember enough about most of them to say more. ...more
