Scottish novelist, Muriel Spark wrote a brilliant and dark novella "The Driver's Seat." It will haunt you. It was nominated for Lost Man Booker Prize of 1970. Ms. Spark describes her book as a "whydunnit in a q sharp major" more than a "whodunnit." This is a story of a complicated and troubled woman with a history of problems. A novella about Lise who takes a holiday from work and in order to escape her normal life she keeps reinventing herself to tragic consequences. Dark, weird but compelling.
