I just loved this book. I loved the characters, the setting, both story lines, and the ending. The book moved seamlessly from the late 1800s to the present day. I cared a lot about Mai Lein, Joseph, Kenneth, Anara, Daniel and even Margaret. Ii learned a lot about the issues the Chinese had in the pacific northwest. I was very invested in how the story played out. There were some areas that went into too much detail - but overall and entirely positive reading experience.
