"The Harder They Come" is a Boyle novel doing what Boyle does best, putting contrasting world views in conflict. In this case the conflict is between a schizophrenic, a retired Marine and high school principal and a horse groomer who has extreme Timothy McVeigh-style anti-government views.

One of my very favorite authors, he didn't disappoint. Interesting characters (altho not likeable people), Northern Calif. setting, and his usual great writing that keeps you turning pages. ...more
