A good espionage story where an English "regular guy" gets thrust into international intrigue and murder in the months leading up to WWII. It took me a while to get hooked into the story--establishing all the pieces took a long time, and I was irritated with our hero for being kind of dumb (I suppose he didn't know he was a main character in a spy novel like I did). However, once it hit a certain plot point , I was in it 100%.
