Detailed assessment of Cambodia's troubled history in the 20th century, but ends in 1998. Kamm's predictions for the country's future were bleak indeed; I'd love to know what he (or someone with his depth of knowledge) thinks of the situation now--have things improved? I listened to the audio of this book while traveling in Cambodia, & I would like to think there is cause for optimism, but I recognize that mere sightseeing is no basis for analysis.
