It's always challenging to write narrative non-fiction when the subject of your story is still alive, and doubly so when he's your primary source. Mezrich tries pretty hard to make Roberts likable, but it's tough sledding when you're starting with the sort of person who's so clueless that stealing moon rocks from NASA actually seems like a good idea to him. It's also challenging because Roberts's catalyst for the crime clearly wasn't willing to talk to Mezrich, and as such ends up like a flat no ...more
