Sadly, this book kind of sucks, but I kept reading, because it's reasonably painless, and I kept hoping it'll get better. It didn't get better. This will probably be the last (and one and only) Anne Gracie book I read. A shame, it's got lots of elements I usually love: Egyptian setting, girl dressed as boy, intrigue ... but the writing is so ... I don't know, is "trite" a word one can use to describe a writing style?
