Had the editor nixed both the dog story and the unrelated name-dropping chapter with Mrs. Pat Campbell and the Duchess of Rutland it would have been a much better book. Had the often stilted dialogue been reworked AND those chapters cut, it would have been a FABULOUS book. As it is, it's a darned good read--well worth the short time it takes to read it. Or, longer, if like me you want to re-read all of Fitzgerald..... I LIKED Sarah and Gerald so much. The others....not so much. I loved ...more
