Reading a badly written book really invokes appreciation for the ones that are written well. That's how I felt about I'm Traveling Alone which started with an intriguing plot, a familiar setting for fans of crime/murder mystery and a duo of unlikeable but heroic police detectives. But too many characters and subplots made the storytelling messy. Read it. Then read the ones that everyone keeps talking about and you'll know why - Jo Nesbo, Hanning Mankell, Jussi Adler-Olsen, Camilla Lackberg et al ...more
