Reading a badly written book really invokes appreciation for the ones that are written well. That's how I felt about I'm Traveling Alone which started with an intriguing plot, a familiar setting for fans of crime/murder mystery and a duo of unlikeable but heroic police detectives. But too many characters and subplots made the storytelling messy. Read it.
