What a fantastic collection of short stories! The thing that entranced me most was the author’s absolute delight of a voice: so fresh, so bright, so snappy, so wonderfully unconventional.
I loved the way she uses Malaysian legends and folk mythologies, the way she interweaves Malaysian-English with Malay and Hokkein, the mélange of cultures and religions, the immigrant experience of moving away.
