What Members Thought
One of my main complaints about too many female detective stories these days is that the women are supposed to be brilliant in every way but do totally stupid things so the guy can rescue her. Mary O'Reilly not only doesn't do that, she makes a point of not doing that. I liked this book very much and I loved Mary -- she's smart,savvy, plucky and has a wicked sense of humor which I guess is a good thing when one of your clients shows up in your bedroom every night without his head on.
