I loved this. Another fictional account based on fact, but which appeared very real and raw in parts, of nurses who served in WWII in the Phillipines and dealt with the casualties, providing care in the most difficult circumstances. The main character becomes caught in the conflict and becomes a prisoner of war. She endures starvation and violence to survive to liberation, but is changed permanently by the events.
