What Members Thought

Without doubt, Jeffrey Archer is a great storyteller. However, I felt some of the events in this book were completely implausible. Everything was very black and white - the good characters were super good and the bad ones very bad. That said, I still kept reading as I really wanted to see the just how the bad characters would get their comeuppance.

A well retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo (at least, in my opinion ;p) You can feel the tense, the burning desire to do some revenge, the building tension of paying it back. It's not original and the ending is predictable, and some of the plots are too cliche, but I enjoyed it unexpectedly :)

I loved this book! If you have read The Count of Monte Cristo, chances are you'll love this book. The book is a modern day retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo. I have no doubt that I'll read this book again in the future.
