A group of Parisian women got together to write this book, a collection of essays and photo essays and stories and quotes, all aimed at getting to what it means to be a Parisian. They do a pretty thorough job.

Pick this up and open it to any page for a little pick-me-up. Leave it on your bedside table and skim it once in a while. My favorite tip is to wear a black bra under a white shirt. There, I said it.

The subtitle is an excellent conveyor of what this book is made up of. The French woman's approach to love is very different from the American puritan standard, that is for sure. The style guides are more coherent than those in some other French style books I've read, and the bad habits were interesting, if sometimes bewildering (though never surprising).

This book is made up of vignettes, which makes it quick to consume, and possibly a great gift book for the feminine francophile in your life. ...more

Humorously & unapologetically advocates/demonstrates how to be a snob.
Lots of funny situations, yet I would not ever want to behave like this.
Focus on mystery, deception, and snobbery rather than charm.
An delightful & cringe-worthy counterpoint to the Madame Chic books I'm also reading. :) ...more
