This is the first graphic novel that I've read in quite a while. The artwork is what impressed me most in this book. The story is good as told through the words of the characters, but there are so many subtleties portrayed through the artwork. It is the story of Asterios Polyp, a middle aged man in crisis. Like all quality comics, it's wonderful AND depressing. Why is it that all the really good comics are completely depressing? Where are all the happy endings? A quick and thought-provoking book.
