4.5 stars. Oh my goodness. I read this for a theme challenge and I was not prepared to be sucked in so completely from the start. This book really grabbed me. The two main characters are a middle-aged father/executive and a rescued former Pit Bull fighter.

This is probably the best novel I've read after The Art of Racing in the Rain where the author gets the emotions of the dog and his owner exactly right. A warning, though it has a bittersweet ending.

Pretty good. I'd recommend it, but I didn't like the dogs thoughts as much Enzo's in "The Art of Racing in the Rain". Still a good story with a strong message.
