This was so much fun to read. Historical fiction is based on the first female deputy sheriff in New Jersey. Loved it and can't wait for the next book in the series. Plus the cover of this book is Hot!

It's not often that you find historical fiction based in true events that is both meticulously researched and able to wear the author's hours in the archives lightly, making this something of a rare treat. At times it plays a bit slowly, but Constance is a compelling heroine and could easily make the jump into a more fully fictional mystery series protagonist.
