So sad, some of the things he writes about. I hope this letter made a positive impact on his son, for whom it was written. It left me feeling depressed, as it presented more problems than solutions, and I feel our country is hungry for solutions to the racial divide. I'm a Christian, and in my church, feel no racial divide, and I wish people would quit focusing on the division and accept that we're all human beings... created equal. Some of this was as harsh as the treatment people on the 'wrong' end of the social/financial/racial...ladder receive. I try to live in the day and treat all as equals. Sometimes I don't even succeed with the people in my inner circle of loved ones. I need to be really present to align my actions and words with my intentions and values. Keep putting my oar in the water.
This man is a powerful writer and a family man with integrity. I admire and respect him. I don't know too many like him.
