I started "Between the World and Me" this morning, and I just finished it. I loved that Coates wrote this book as an epistle. I really like this type of book, and really liked all the ones I have read in the last couple of years.

I'm a few years behind on this one. Between the World and Me is a must read for all young adults and older. Coates's words in his letter to his son feel heartfelt, private, honest, and true. I appreciate the opportunity to have read it knowing I was not the intended recipient.

This is written as a letter by the author to his son discussing the authors thoughts on racism and race in the U.S. I listened to the audio which is read by the author which I don't recommend because the author talks very fast which makes it hard to follow his arguments. Along with the author I am very troubled by the actions of many police departments in this country and agree that something needs to be done about it. I respect the authors views but I was dislike that he seems to think my life
