Love this story, but I think this is more of a sad, haunting story than a horror book. The series adaptation in Netflix added some stories from other Pike's books, that relied more heavily on horrors. However, The Midnight Club is so eerie in a different sense, since all characters are dying, and it talked a lot about death and sickness.
