First of all, let me say how weird it is to have been reading a book about plane crashes on September 11th, the 15th anniversary of the day four planes were hijacked and over three thousand people lost their lives. I think it made the horror and terror the people of Elizabeth felt less abstract because I was able to remember my own horror and terror as I watched the Twin Towers fall. I wasn't sure I was going to finish this one but in the end it was a decent read. I liked how Blume depicted the era and the events, but early on there were just too many jumps between characters and too many of those characters. To anyone reading this book, I would suggest spending a good chunk of time at the start of the book because otherwise it's easy to forget which character is which, and how they are connected.
