Western Sahara is the last colony in Africa. Originally the country was occupied by Spain (officially in 1934). In 1965 the United Nations passes a resolution that Spain is to leave Western Sahara and to help the territory to transition to independence. Spain leaves, Morocco sends over 350,000 Moroccan civilians with troops to occupy Western Sahara.
