Picked up this first in a trilogy due to my interest in foreign crime fiction. Set in Warsaw some fifteen years after the collapse of the Soviet Union and satellite regimes, it provides an interesting look at a relatively young civil society. That said, the story is sedately paced, the translation isn't very lively, and the murder around which it all revolves is a but preposterous.
