2 stars is being generous because I love this series. This particular installment, however, I wanted to throw across the room, but since I was reading on my kindle I didn't want to destroy that. What little mystery there was got lost among all the whiny bickering - "you're not the boss of me," "hey now, little missy," "I love you but I hate you," etc. I'll try the next book and hope for a vast improvement.

I really enjoy the Cupcake Bakery mysteries and the characters, even if sometimes there are parts where you have to 'suspend your disblief' that everything could turn out so perfectly. Sometimes a little disconnect with reality is okay, given that we have to face a tougher reality in real life. I think this is a good series with good characters and yummy cupcake recipes that have me wanting to devour cupcakes every time I read a book in it!
