I really enjoyed this novel. After the initial first few pages (which were super interesting) it started getting a little slow and you begin to wonder how it's possible a whole book is left to read - but stick with it. It's got an amazing twist and then just gets better and better.

Mackintosh served on the police force and the novel is written about a crime - although this is a fictional story, it's based partially on her experience. It's about a hit and run case. Makes you really think how much

A psychological thriller in which nothing thrilling really happens, unless you consider incessant physical and verbal domestic abuse and assault to be thrilling. I was really put off by how much abuse was depicted in this story and the fact that Mackintosh gave the abuser multiple sections in which to express his point of view.
