This book series is great! So much fun and legitimately funny, great pacing, fun little adventure stories and a unique way to learn more about Greek mythology. I loved the introduction of the new character, Tyson, a baby cyclops!!

I like this series mainly for the Greek mythology. This is the 2nd book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and it is as good as the first book in the series. I like the added character of Tyson, and the continued adventures to save the world against evil gods that want to destroy western civilization.

Book #2 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

At the start of this installment, Percy has almost finished a complete school year without being expelled or destroying his school. However, on the last day, Trouble finds him and now begins a second adventure.

Percy Jackson is my favorite 7th grade hero right now. What I love about Percy is that he has ADHD, Dyslexia and is a demi-god. My son and the author's son also have ADHD and Dyslexia and I think I have my son convinced he is a demi-god. My son faces challenges that other kids don't have to and so when a great character comes along in a book that faces similar challenges with courage, the book earns a big thumbs up. Percy Jackson has nearly made it through 7th grade and even made a new friend Tyson. Then monsters arrive and percy has to flee for cap half Blood with Annabeth and Tyson. The camp tree has been poisoned and the trio set off on an unsanctioned quest to heal the tree. I liked the modern twist on the Greek myths and the twist on the Odyssey. Quite a cliff hanger ending so I look forward to reading more of the series.
